Don't have too many prejudices about what will and won't work; I've 
surprised by my own successes and failures. 
	- small film grain size is essential, since your eye will try to
	  concentrate on those small, far away details
	- anything with water works well
	- don't worry about shadows; they aren't a distraction when viewing,
	  for the same reasons they aren't a distraction in real life
	- frame some vistas with nearby objects
	- contrariwise, don't frame some vistas. I have some pictures where
	  the nearest object is >10km away, so objectively there can't be any
	  parallax larger than the grain size and hence no 3D effect. They 
	  *still* look better in 3D than 2D. My presumption is that this is
	  because, when using a handheld viewer, the entire attention is still
	  focussed on the scene throught the stereo window. I haven't tried
	  projecting them
	- try the usual conventional "thirds" rule of composition, and 
	  soemtimes ignore it
