P3D My first stereo competition

I just got the results from my first ever entry in a stereo
competition. I sent nine slides to Pauline Sweezey who graciously
offered to evaluate them and select the best four to enter in the
Cordova Camera Club International Stereo Exhibition. Two of those
entered were accepted.
There are two reasons I am posting this:
First, is to give anyone who is just starting out hope. It was only
two short years ago that I sent my very first batch of slides to Dr.
T for his comments. And comment he did with statements like: 'Do you
even know what the stereo window is?' I asked him to be brutally
honest and he was. I do not regret that exchange as it started a
dialog with him that has gotten me to where I am today. Although I
must say that someone with less fortitude might have easily called it
quits after that first exchange. *{;-)
Second, is to once again praise the Spicer cardboard mount. If I was
able to have two slides accepted in a PSA sponsored international
competition that were mounted in them then they have to be good.
If the mounting was off or the edges not straight and crisp I am sure
they would have been rejected.
At 9.5 cents a mount and available in eight different sizes the
Spicer mounts are without a doubt the best deal around. But you say
there are a pain to mount properly. Not after you learn how. But you
say how do I learn? Come to Jon Golden's mounting workshop at NSA 97.
But you say I can't make it to NSA 97. I hear rumors that some of the
workshops might be video taped. Can anyone confirm these?
Thanks for the time,
