P3D Club Meeting

I was feeling left out of the action as I read recent reports of Stereo
Club Meetings, but I am happy to report that the more or less Spring
meeting of the Rabbit Hash 3-D Photogaphy Club has taken place.
Friday's respite from the rain brought out a quorum, in fact, it was a
crowd. We found the weather was temperate enough to hold the meeting
outdoors.
We began with show and tell, comparing and exchanging things found at
thrift stores and yard sales. I got a Kodak flash adaptor to replace the
wired one that I spliced to a hot shoe, and an old Vivitar flash like one
I cherished in my professional photography days, but broke long ago.
Everyone got some booty. I was castigated (and properly so) for being
tardy with news letter. The group threatened to turn the project over
to Buddy Rich, until I pointed out that, in spit of his many obvious
virtues, Buddy is obdurate in his illiteracy. I was promised help in
finishing the latest edition of "Everything Twice."
We spoke of summer plans and decided to try to have a meeting to coincide
with this year's Jambalaya Festival in late summer. We hope to have one
in June too, perhaps to coincide with the General Store's Celebration of
Boone County's 200th Birthday.
At dusk we hung the new club screen. A handy member has glued and
stiched a screen out of four thrift store lenticular silver screens. It
is big and has grommets for hanging. It covered the back door so the
refreshments and cheese plates were brought outside for the duration of
the alfresco presentation.
We don't have competitions, but my set of rural scenes accompanied by
poetry of William Carlos Williams and photos of the paddle wheeler upon
which I will be performing some weddings this summer, were well
received. Mr Lustenburg presented a number of well done historical
views, and one of our newest lady members (who came all the way from
Columbus, Ohio and is a politician by trade, presented "Views of the
Rubber Chicken Circuit", a wry look at campaign fund raisers. The slides
of the arrival of Harriet's donkeys were very funny, and we concluded
with a bunch of General Store Christmas slides, with a very familiar
looking Santa.
Refreshments were refreshed and the talk went far into the night. At the
risk if seeming immodest, but in the interest of complete reporting, I'll
mention that I was toasted for having received, finally, my doctorate. It
will be a comfort to me in my old age.
The revels ended about 1:30.
 And that's the president's report,
Charlie, President of the Rabbit Hash Kentucky 3-D Photography Club
