P3D Re: New Member sends greetings (hobbies)
We've been discussing, yet again, why 3-D photography isn't more accepted.
George said,
<"How about viewing? This seems to me to be the most tricky part of <the
equation. Viewing is uncommon and awkward. You need a viewer <and you need
to be able to use the viewer or you need to train yourself <to do weird
exercises with your eyes. That's the problem, IMO."
I have always agreed with this. The viewer is what makes the system so
different. In some cases, the cost may be a factor. Such may be true for
lenticulars. It cost me over thirty bucks to buy a DISPOSABLE lenticular
3-D
camera, and get the shots developed. The results were not very good, and it
took WEEKS to get my pictures back.
I've had more people show interest in taking 3-D when I show them
lenticulars than when I show my more impressive Realist slides. Then...
when
I tell them what it cost me, they seem very much less interested.
I think we need to start ASKING people why they're not interested in it.
Show your slides to your friends. A month later, if they weren't hooked,
survey them to find out why not! We're just making assumptions, here.
