P3D Re: Cha-cha-cha

I get many good results with the cha-cha technique, but I use a mechanical
aid. I purchased a focusing screen for my SLR, which has horizontal
and vertical lines etched into the screen. Using a horizontal reference,
such as a sky line, I align my subject, or preferably a background object,
at a certain height along one of the vertical lines, and shoot the left
shot. I shift my weight, or even move hundreds of yards, re-align the
horizontal reference, and re-align the object along the vertical line,
sometimes with a horizontal offset to avoid key-stoning, and shoot the
right image. The same technique can be used with one or two vertical
references as well. ie: a mountain peak, and a rock below the peak.

Unless I make an error, all of the images are viewable, and
most are projectable with little or no correction. I am not too good at
correcting rotational errors, but it can be learned, and the error can
be easily seen by viewing a stereo projection, without using polarizing
glasses.
