The Kermit example is something that I do not expect Kodak (or any other
commercial outfit) to mount correctly. The subject is too close to the
camera to be mounted in a "Normal" mount.
What I have seen in many commercially-mounted slides is inconsistencies
in placing the stereo window. For "Normal" scenes the window can be
placed anywhere from 5 feet to beyond infinity. If the chips are cut
always at the same place and are centered in the mounts, then the
window should be always placed at the same spot. That's what I would
expect a commercial outfit to do (plus, no vertical misalignment except
if it comes from the camera and is consistence throughout the roll).
Anything more than that is really "custom mounting"...
