I concur but I'd like to mention an astonishing experience I had with my
last roll of Kodachrome. I took it to Target, I always go to the same
one because there aren't many around here and only one is close by. I
received it back nearly five weeks later and all the slides were just
fine. Usually it takes 3 to four weeks.
Before I could ask about the extra time, the young lady at the counter
told me the saga of my film. Even though we put labels all over it
requesting that it go to Fair Lawn, NJ and be stereo mounted, it was sent
back by the local office because they don't do stereo. The Target lady
wrote them a note, they conceded and sent it to Dallas. Dallas sent it
back to Target with a note telling them to send it to Fair Lawn. They
did. A week later it came back as an unmounted strip. The target lady
remembered me and my explanation, realized it was wrong and sent it back.
A few days later I had my properly mounted slides.
I brought a viewer in to show her what she was fighting for. She was
impressed and the last I heard she was going to tape a couple of
throw-aways together to try her hand. I promised her one of the club
loaners as soon as one comes available.
I also wrote a glowing letter to her boss.
The processing and mounting cost $3.16. A new low, but it was a new high
as far as discount store service goes.
