For me it seems to be as I say. Or at least it seems that way.

My red button's are both larger and heavier, and further, the
red button's button is near the very REAR of the unit, not
where the center of gravity is (where most of hand goes). Picking
it up putting it down repeatedly, to me, is more awkward than
picking up the smaller life-like AND not having to have
my hand hit it in the right spot to get both good balance
AND have my finger on the button comfortably without having
to move my hand around a little. With the Lifelike I can
grab it -- simultaneously with my other hand putting the slide
in the slot while it's going toward my eyes. And do it
repeatedly without any "accuracy" required by the picking-up
hand, as is required for the red-button for the reasons mentioned
above. Surely, your extreme skill at doing this is why
it makes no difference to you. But a klutz like myself
finds the life-like a bit easier for this reason.

P.S. - But if truth were to be told, my choice for that purpose
has switched from my lifelike to my green Realist viewer
(the small one with 'C' batteries). Mine has good
achromat lenses in them, and is as handy to use as
the life-like. It's also got a halogen in it (well,
ALL of my battery powered ones have halogens in them,
       including the life-like).
