P3D Viewer Light Bulb Question

Hi,

I am currently making a homemade viewer for viewing Realist
format slides, and wondered (independent of any socket
considerations) if there is any reason not to use a Xenon
bulb (UV exposure maybe?).  I've noticed a lot of Halogen
usage and have found that there are a lot of Xenon bulbs
available for low voltage applications.
