And I thought I knew everything about light bulds.....
This is the first I've heard about Xenon (incandescent?) lamps.
Are you saying someone is marketing a Xenon lamp along the same line
as the Halogen and Krypton lamps? I'd like to learn more about this.
Typically a Xenon lamps operates at 20 - 50 volts after a 1000+ Volt
initial kick to get it started and give off a nice "white" light.

If I were building my own viewer I would use fluorescent lamps which
run much cooler, can emit "Daylght" white light and can operate much much
longer at a more continous output than an incandescent lamp outputing
the same amount of light.
