Dana, probably over 90% of my photography is travel photography.
I have used the Realist format almost exclusively for 3D since
starting with stereo photography a little over 2 years ago. In
the 5P format I've managed to achieve results that please me and
my wife a great deal. (I've even found 1 or 2 other people who
claim to enjoy the images as well.)

Perhaps right now you haven't worked enough with the 5P format to
get over the discomfort caused by it being "different" from what
you are used to?

I hear the Belplasca is pretty good. ;-) And I never see RBTs (even
wider than European format) on Sell-3D, so I guess those aren't too
bad either. ;-)

The problem is there were relatively few European format cameras
(primarily Belplasca, original Iloca, and Verascope). The Belplasca,
reportedly, is easily the best of the three, but very expensive.
The others are often passable, but not highly regarded by authorities
such as Piper, and more expensive than most Realist format cameras.

I encourage you not to give up on the Realist format.

Good luck with your shooting,
Paul Talbot
