P3D Re: Stereo viewfinder for a stereo camera
Peter from GouDDDa ask us to comment on the possiblity of a
stereo viewfinder for a stereo camera using cheap toy binoculars.
The idea of a stereo viewfinder for my Realist was very appealing
to me especially after I read about it in Ferwerda's book. I
tried to make one out of cardboard until I realized the basic
problem: How do you make the stereo viewfinder show you the
field of view of the camera? Especially when using binoculars,
with 4x magnification, I would expect the field of view to be
very different.
So, I gave up this idea. I understand that certain RBT cameras
have a stereo viewfinder (and so do some twin camera contraptions.)
I have looked through an RBT stereo viewfinder but was not
particularly impressed with what I saw. Any comments from people
with stereo viewfinders? Does that help in stereo composition?
