Roughly: It's the "edge" of your stereo view. You can move one of
your pair of images to the left and right slightly to change the
position of the "window". By doing this, you can control the
plancement of items in the stereo view in relationship to the
"edge". In other words, if your subject is close to the "window",
you can place them behind it, at it, or in front of it.

Larry Berlin has a great animation about this subject, that alows
you to see how moving one image from the pair can change the
stereo view. Of course, it's not on his web page any longer, BUT
(can you guess what I might say next...) it's on the 3D-CD! =)

It is a mounting thing. =) Although, as you get used to thinking
about it in your mounting, you start to think about how that
might affect what you shoot.
