P3D Revere 33 question

In digest # 2708 I tried to start a thread about
the different Revere models that obviously exist.
This rang not too much bells, however there is
one thing that makes me very curious: the hotshoe
on my serialnumber V-30925 has an extra flash contact.
Anybody aware of the fact that there was some kind
of dedicated flash made for this model ?
The flash that came with the camera (a pretty standard
model 24) has a 'normal' flash shoe with a bump.
