P3D New VFX3D Stereoscopic HMD Design Released

Just announced a new Stereoscopic Head Mounted Display (HMD) 9 June 1998 
from the makers of the original VFX1 :-

Interactive Imaging Systems  (IIS)

New VFX3D Design Features

˜The VFX3D will utilize the first in a new series of displays with 230,000 
pixels, in contrast to the VFX1 and other HMD's which have only 180,000 pixels.

˜Since the display is color field sequential there will not be the spatial 
distortion evident in current HMD's.

˜The VFX3D will be compatible with the latest 3D accelerator cards.
 
˜The VFX3D will display the full VGA color depth.

˜There is no internal interface card, so installation is a snap.

˜The VFX3D will act like a multi-sync monitor supporting resolutions up to 
1024x768 at many refresh rates.

˜The VFX3D has a completely updated tracking system with improved performance 
over the VFX1. 

The above information is subject to change prior to product release. 

Best thing about the VFX3D is that it can hooked straight into a Voodoo2 
graphics card and voila! you've got a complete 3d accelerated virtual 
environment!
