P3D Projection Adjustments (was: Mounting Guages)

Let me amplify this a little bit. I am convinced that projector
adjustments should be kept to an absolute minimum. The only adjustment
that makes sense is focusing and this is needed only if mounts of
different thickness are mixed up. The worse adjustment IMO is moving
the images horizontally to match highlights and eliminate ghosting.

I might be influenced by McKay on this, but I have seen projection
sessions where the projector is continuously adjusted and it is
like a nightmare... The eyes are called to do weird exercises and
more time is spent trying to adjust to the shifting images, than
enjoying what is being projected in the screen.

Does that make sense or am I off base again? :-)
