Thanks, Mark. I thought I remembered some sort of rule of thumb 
mentioned when I first started mounting slides, but I couldn't remember 
what it was. I don't have any problem lining up near/far for the stereo 
window and the effect I want; I just wanted to be sure I was using the 
correct gauge for my own use and to be able to help others with stereo 
slide mounting techniques. I also have several slide shows that have 
mounts with different size openings, so I wanted to have correct 
mounting for each size so there is little or no need for adjustment 
during the presentation other than focus. I'll check the RBTs, but I 
think they have the same middle measurement on every size, which will 
make for easy mounting.
