P3D A Revolting Development

I am relatively new to 3-d photography. Have taken side by sides and
paired camera shots. Am awaiting the delivery of a Realist (from Dr.
T.). Have purchased an Argus 3D camera, which has produced some very
enjoyable pictures. I develop them at the local Pathmark, which sends
them out to Konica for processing. After getting about 6 rolls of film
done there, with good results, and no problems, my latest roll took 10
days to get back. It's supposed to come back in a day or two. When I
kept inquiring about it, they always asked, "Was there anything special
about them", like enlargements or computer pictures. I always said, no,
they're just regular pictures. When I finally got them back, and they
wanted $11.75 instead of the usual $7.50 for doubles of 4" by 6"
pictures, I knew something was wrong. It turns out that somebody at the
lab had decided that I had taken 1/2 frame pictures, and he had gone to
a lot of trouble to print them individually, in a strange 3" by 61/2 '
format. I sent them back, writing a note explaining that they were 3d
pictures, and please just print them as if they were regular pictures.
Is 3D so esoteric that a major lab would not recognize a side by side
picture as being 3d? I guess so.
I will soon be part of the mainstream as far as this forum goes
when I get my Realist. But is the Argus considered so elemantary that
nobody in this group ever mentions one? Or am I the only one who bought
one of these things? :>o
