P3D Mounting - A Can of Worms!

George-
Yikes! What a thread this turned out to be. I never meant to imply that
mounting was hard; I just wanted clarification for the devices *I* am
using. If you don't find them necessary - good for you! I think some of
the misunderstanding comes from one person mounting mostly images shot
with a stereo camera and another (me) mounting sequential images from a
single SLR. A little different. In some cases, I am trying to mount
images that were taken with the "cha-cha" method. Those horizontal lines
sure come in handy for me in those cases!
As for projection of images at club meetings, perhaps we are going about
it the wrong way by trying to align every picture. I would hate to see
someone give up stereo or competitions because their images weren't
properly aligned; but, then again, perhaps we need to state prior to the
competition that if the images didn't project correctly that more
experienced members would be glad to assist. There's where the workshop
comes in. Explanation of different types of mounting and how EASY it is.
By the way, when you first set up your projector for competition, whose
slide do use to determine the horizontal and vertical adjustments, and
why that particular person's? Or is there an alignment slide for realist
mounts?
With all these worms, I think I'll go fishin'!
