Some projectors put the polarizing filter between the slide and the projector
lens. Most notably, the Compco Triad projector.

We have match-sized flare-ups on this subject from time to time, usually
resulting in maintaining pre-existing opinions (i.e.- liking the projector one
already has, which in turn influences the assumptions made which then in turn
justifies the original opinion). :-)

Looking at the subject from a distance, it probably doesn't matter where
you put the filters (meaning front of or behind the slide).

P.S. - If the reason to put the polaroids between the slide and the projection
lens is so glass can be used to protect the filters, then I'd be a bit
worried about the slides! I'd think that the reason to put glass on the
polarizing filters would be mostly to keep it flat. I think Jon had said
that glass RBT mounts make the film hotter than having the non-glass mount
because the film then has airflow and glass (which normally has very bad
heat conduction) would keep heat "in". Or do I recall wrong?
