Actually, I know that. I only credited Dr. T with the list he printed
because he said he made it from information from several sources, so it
is unique to a point. I also have several books that outline the "sunny
16" rule, plus assorted wheel and slide rules (one is an old Kodak book
with lots of wheel guides - great book, although my copy is a little
dated) that I have collected in the 20 years I have been photographing.
I dropped out of this discussion a while ago as I originally asked if
someone could help me obtain printed instructions for a light meter I
purchased; not how or why I should meter. All I really wanted to know is
what all the abreviations are on the meter so I can set it correctly to
see if it works. Somehow a request for instructions turned into a
discussion on if and when you should use a light meter. Interesting
reading, though. {:>)
Thank you to the 2 people who actually tried to help me find
instructions.

p.s. I, too, have an old Weston meter. It was my grandfathers. It still
works - sometimes. {:>)
