P3D Bill Walton sampler on 3D-CD

I enjoyed looking at Bill's photos but
they were painful for me to view in
stereo.
No cross-eyed view is provided and
the side-by-side pair that I measured
was 4.4" infinity spacing on my computer
(a Mac). So I had to back up about 6
feet to allow my eyes to fuse the images
without having to diverge them at too large
an angle. I have a monochrome monitor
so I can't use the anaglyph option even
though I have the free glasses included
with the 3D-CD.
Mac screens are usually set up at 72 dpi
vs 96 dpi or so on PCs thus these images
are larger (and harder to freeview) on my
screen than on a PC. But the 4.4" separation
will only be reduced to 3.3" on a PC screen
(unless you go to a higher DPI video mode) so
they may still be hard for people to
freeview (on a PC).
I would suggest that the parallel view
be limited to no wider than 2.5" (normal
eye spacing) on your lowest dpi target machine.
That means about 250 pixels wide (per eye) if PCs
are the only market, and 180 pixels wide if
you intend to include Macintosh's.
As well a cross-eyed view with more
pixels can be provided (or a L-R-L image)
to give a higher resolution image.
I'm not really likely to buy the CD
so feel free to ignore me. But I thought
I'd put my 10 cents worth in anyway.
Thanks for listening - Greg E.
