You lost me here somewhere Marv. Does your reference to "control freak"
mean that you want to control whether I use a filter in the privacy of my own
reader? Seems a bit over the top to me.

The only other thing I can think is that "control freak" is intended to be a
slur at me (whatever happened to arguing the topic not the person). In fact,
while I made it obvious that I thought this discussion was off-topic (I'm
entitled to an opinion too, you know) I did not try to control whether it was
or was not held per se. I simply asked for a little basic courtesy to make it
easier for those that wish to filter (or indeed skip/delete) the thread.
