P3D Stereo Camera Cases

I'm a little baffled by all the interest in original cases for stereo
cameras.

I've always found these cases to be the least desireable way to carry a
camera.

First of all they do just the opposite of protecting the camera.  They
leave indentations in the leather on the camera and promote corrosion by
retaining moisture in the felt lining and holding this moisture against
camera surfaces.  They are cumbersone to open and close and make it
difficult to access camera controls.

It is much easier to carry the camera body in a camera bag along with
accessories, film and possibly other cameras.
