IMHO, you're depriving yourself of options and you're not shooting
enough pictures.
If you limit yourself to "a couple of rolls extra of film" that you can
fit in a pocket, then you limit your choices of emulsion (you can't
switch from 50ASA Velvia, for example, to 100 ASA Ektachrome when the
cloud cover rolls in). And you'll be second-guessing yourself about
whether you should take the picture or "save" the film for a better
opportunity that might come along later, if you only have an extra roll
or two. And what about flash fill? Can't button up that case with a
flash on the camera.
What I'm hearing here is that the folks who like the field cases are
basically snapshooters who'll grab a few photos under "ideal" conditions
or punt. Am I wrong?
