I've used duplication slide film, only "negative" is that I had to buy
a 100' roll and load cassettes myself. Not hard to do nor expensive
per roll, but if you want only three slides copied, then it could be considered
spendy.  Type I used also isn't made for flash, I use a slide copying
light source and long shutter speeds (it's about ASA 8 or so that I recall).

For trying to copy with store-bought cassettes of slide film, using 
low-contrast film may help.  I think VPN is one I've heard recommended
by a seller in a local camera shop.  You could check Kodak's site
for low contrast film types which possibly could require going to a
store that sells pro-film, but that may be the easiest for a quickie
copy that's a lot better than Sensia super-contrast.
