One source of trouble to watch for with these things is if a small subject
is well away from the background.  Shooting in a large hall perhaps.  The
sensor stops the flash when a given amount of light has been reflected.
If the background is far away that light will all have come from the
subject.  Result, overexposed subject on a black background.  They are
really designed for smallish rooms.
