P3D Mounting Experiment

Just before Emde recently went out of business I stockpiled a quantity
of the outer aluminum frames into which you slide a mask sandwiched with
glass. I forget the model number.(3400?) I bet many of you still have
these.

Recently I began using Spicer mounts and the mounting jig sold by Rocky
Mountain Memories. A system I have fallen in love with. I'm pleased to
report that it is a simple matter to transfer a Spicer mounted slide to
glass mounting simply by cutting the Spicer mount in half (eliminating
the foldover half), sandwiching in glass and sliding into the Emde
frame. I was afraid the sandwich would be too thick but it isn't. So
the Spicer mounts work equally well as a complete two part mount or as a
one part mask. Cool.
