The chips is not quite rectangular. Rounded corners and a bit of a taper.

I tried in 1974 or so. My sister's daughters had a viewer, and it seemed 
a neat idea to send them a reel of themselves. It was pretty bad.
Cutting to fit with scissors was an incredible pain. I think I managed
two, both of which were badly smudged with fingerprints.

Last year, Eddie Hosey (who is on this list) kindly lent me his camera
and cutter, so I managed about 7 reels. The cut film has a delicate,
lacy, look, so I saved if. If you send me your address, I'll send you
the holes, for whatever help they may give.
