P3D Re: Realist to VM



Another way to do it is to slice a VM reel into the two parts.
Mount your chips in one side.  Glue the parts together.
This way you don't need a VM cutter.  You don't cut the chips.
Just shift them in place for good alignment.  No need to center
them in the film either.  Can use Realist-format or full-frame
pairs (anything larger than VM).  Bob Alb. (the famous projectionist)
has tried it and reported the results in an article in ISU's
"Stereoscopy".  Also discussed here in photo-3d.  I have been saving
"unwanted" Realist chips or pairs that need cropping, for this
project, for years now...
