I've used Avery labels and several different label writing
programs for realist slides.  My handwriting can get
aweful, especially if trying to write teeny-tiny, so
printer printing helps.

Won't know for another 50 years.  :-)

I was told back then (think it's been a few years now)
that they'll peel off in a year.  They seem exactly 
the same, firmly attached to their slides.  Whether
the adhesive outgases, I have no idea.  But then if
I wrote with a pen, I'd not know about the ink either.
But at least they're not adjacent to the film itself,
but an inch or so away in either direction.
