Nice of them to do that. It's good to see the high turnout!

I skipped Friday, since I had seen "Dial M..." at the NSA/ISU Convention in
Atlanta in 1995.

I had fully intended to go to Arch Oboler's "Fantastic Invasion of Planet
Earth" on Saturday evening with my wife. My daughter was staying at a
friend's and we actually had the night to ourselves!

Unfortunately, the starter in my wife's car decided on Saturday afternoon
to be done with all that starting business and take up humming, smoking and
clicking for a living instead. Diagnosis confirmed that the condition was
terminal. There went the movie...

There is a silver lining to the cloud, or maybe two.

First, my total labor time for replacing the starter was about 25 minutes
out and in and I hardly lost any blood. That's always a good thing when
doing car repairs.

Second, I happened to have two PSA Stereo Division Circuit Boxes on hand,
which coincidently arrived at my house a day apart this week. Each of these
boxes contained about thirty stereo slides from six or eight other North
American photographers.

So we skipped a sci-fi 3D movie in a hot crowded theater and instead
enjoyed a private screening of a 3D trip to India, Bali, Australia and the
Yucatan as well as points of interest from a dozen different states in the
US.

Not a bad trade-off.
