P3D vacation reminder

  • From: Bob Wier <wier@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I'm seeing quite a few bounce messages as the moment due to people
who either have set a "vacation" message to be auto sent while they
are away, or whom have full mailboxes which won't accept more mail.
After a couple of days, these subscriptions are deleted from the list.

The best thing to do is to place your subscription on postpone while
you are gone. To do this, send a message to the listserv robot at

listserv@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

(note there is no second "e" in "listserv")

Leave the subject line blank, or if your mailer requires a subject,
fill in xx or something similar - if the robot sees a real word in the
subject line, it will not process it, but try to send it as if it is
a real message.

In the body of the message, place

set photo-3d mail postpone

or

set overland-trails mail postpone

as appropriate.

Do NOT put your name or e-mail address at the end of the command -
if you do, the robot will discard it.

What is the advantage of doing a postpone rather than an unsub/sub?
With a postpone, you can turn your subscription on and off without having
the moderator(s) approve your subscription again when you want to start it
up again.

If you place your sub on postpone, you can re-activate it by following the
above rules, but place the following in the body of the message...

set photo-3d mail digest

or

set photo-3d mail ack

or

set overland-trails mail digest

or

set overland-trails mail ack

as appropriate to specify either digest mode or immediate (ack) mode.

If you can't get the robot to respond and you have done the above,
send a copy of the reject message to the moderators or

wier@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
