P3D VM reels mounting, etc.

Now that we've talked about mounting slides and prints, can someone
explain how you get those little View Master chips into the reel?  Do
you guys always use Personal Reels, or do you go to the store and buy
some new reels sets and split them open and use them?  I've got an old
collectable reel coming apart; how do I fix it?
