P3D E-6 at home

I used to do my own E-6 with the Kodak Handi-pak, no longer available,
which made up chemistry in 1 quart size. It was surprisingly easy and
the instructions gave a variety of temperature/time combinations you
could use. I found the slides came out a bit on the green side at the
higher temperatures. Kodaks rating of number of rolls was quite
conservative and I could easily double the number if the mixed chemistry
was fresh. The main trick is temperature control; but it's not hard to
keep the kitchen sink full of water within 1 degree which is fine. Keep
the tank in the sink between agitations during the steps for which it
matters; the first 2 if I recall correctly.
I think that chemistry is still available but in inconveniently large
quantities, for me.
Its easy, its fun, it never gets lost in the mail. But the 1-hour
places are great for the spare-time challenged.
