P3D TDC Colorist take-up reels

It's a VERY common problem with Colorists. The basic problem is this:
The take up reel is attached to a metal axis by only a single plastic
tab. The tab comes off the take up reel itself and is made from the
same fairly soft plastic. The tab shears off and you're left with your
wind knob freewheeling inside the take-up reel.
I had one with this problem that I "fixed" by making and inserting a pin
in place of the original. That fell apart after a couple rolls however
when the plastic take-up reel cracked.
It MIGHT be fixable either by adding a screw (through the plastic reel
and metal axis) or by just plain epoxying the whole darn thing together.
I never tried these though being way too ticked off with the camera.
