P3D possible legitimate virus threat..(CIH)

Hey guys - it may be too late, but it appears that there
is a legitimate virus threat that *may* activate only this Sunday on the
26th. The word is that the University of Texas is quite worried
about it  - however I can find no mention on the CERT web site
about it.

Here is the symantec (norton anti-virus) page with the description.
They say that the Norton update as of July 15th will be able to
identify it. Alternately the word on the net on how to avoid it is
to set the date appropriately so that the 26th doesn't occur (ie, the
27th) or don't turn on the computer on Sunday. It apparently is spread
via contaminated .exe files and only affects Win 95 machines (and possibly
win 98). Presumably one could get it by using a contaminated floppy and/or
executing downloaded .exe files from the internet.
