Joseph,Joseph,Joseph! I know it's been hot in Houston, but try a nice cool
shower and relax!
It's a shame in this modern world that people can't appreciate the art of
TAKING a photograph. It used to mean understanding light, exposure, depth of
field and in the case of stereo, depth and proportion.
Why do you need to modernize? Is there something wrong with learning the
basics of photography? If you have no time, how to you expect to learn the
complex rules behind stereo?
I'm not saying it is difficult to take a stereo picture, to making it comes
naturally with no effort at all. But I've also experienced the "3d
headache" from people who igore the rules and force you to view misaligned
or exaggerated depth images until your eyes hurt!
Why do the big camera manufacturers ignor stereo? Any idea as to the amount
of design work, setup, and legal work required to make a completely new
camera these days? Any for what, maybe 1% of the market? I guarantee if one
came out tomorrow it would be expensive AND would be ripped apart by all
the 3d critics out there.
$2000 for an RBT is a great investment and IS PROPORTIONAL to what you had
to pay for a good stereo camera in the 1950s. I can't believe how cheap a
Realist is today considering what you get for it.
Unless you want to make your own stereo, another area that has become
popular these days, you should either get a classic stereo camera in good
condition, or bit the bullet for a good new one.
regards,
Sam
