Ok Joseph, then here it is in a nutshell...

Flat photography is basically a medium of selective focus (either
through composition, DOF, use of light/color/greyscale, or a combination
of all of these). Stereo photography is basically a medium of
hyperfocus, where the eye and the brain naturally wants to investigate
the entire 3D image and explore the foreground and background
relationships within the composition.

This *generally* being the case, you can see why having aperture control
is desireable/critical in many or most stereo shooting situations...
