Complain about what?  For missing something they cannot experience?
Perhaps the fact that they are only using one eye?  Or that one hand
is blocking the light from one side?  Would that give a clue?

Now, seriously, there are studies done concluding that most kids don't
see stereo in VM.  I read that somewhere but don't remember where.
