How do you determine whether a kid looking at ViewMaster images
is seeing 3D or not?
Personally, I never knew ViewMaster was 3D until I got into stereo
photography as an adult. We did have VM as kids, but I never had
any idea that I was seeing anything fundamentally different than my
dad's flattie slides. I'm constantly amazed when, in trying to
explain stereo slides to folks, they immediately jump in with "oh,
you mean like those ViewMasters we had when we were kids!" Really,
I had absolutely no idea.
