Joseph,
As a professional photographer (as noted in your posting), I would
assume you would know about slave flashes. I have a hot shoe slave
attachment that I purchased from a camera store several years ago to aid
in firing a remote flash for slide duplication. It's simply a hot shoe
with an "electric eye". When my primary strobe fires, it activates the
remote strobe too.

It's not very big, about 1x1x1 inches, takes no batteries and works with
every strobe I've tried it with so far (i.e. my two dedicated Konica
strobes). I've even used it on a strobe extender bar attached to the
bottom of my camera (a plain bar with cold shoe at the end).

I would check places like Fox Photo, Wolf Camera or most any dedicated
camera store. I don't think I paid more that $10.00 for it.

There have also been some schematics posted recently for building your
own slave strobe firing device. This too may work for you if you're a
bit of a handyman.

Hope this helps,
Ron

P.S. Maybe your batteries are weak? Any different results w/ fresh
batteries?
