P3D Making 3D video from 2D

A client of mine wonders if it is possible to make a 3D video
out of an existing 2D video. I suppose it's possible that
Pulfrich might work but it wasn't shot with that in mind
(not that it is very succesful even when planned). I seem
to recall some mention of a system aimed at IMAX type
shows that would do it from big 70mm film. 

I wonder if anyone has any other ideas or names I might
contact.
