I saw this message about overlap but never saw the original post. I have a
TDC Colorist II that I just love but have noticed over the last year or so a
persistent problem. I am hoping someone here will know what it is.
Sometimes I notice when I am just about to push down on the shutter button, I
will hear/feel a slip - like the mechanism anticipated me taking the picture -
it sounds as though the film slipped backwards onto already taken frames.
Maybe I'm just imagining what it sounds like, but when I get the roll
developed, often times I will see pictures/frame overlapping .
Also, when I am at the end of the roll, I rewind the film - only to find that
when I open the back, its not rewound and I've exposed the film. The camera
rewind knob has a certain freedom of tension that you feel when it is rewound
- the knob feels that way, but when I get the back open, alas, it is not
rewound. Does anyone on this list familiar with this camera and/or this
problem?
I usually shoot with Fuji Provia 100 speed film, if that is of any use but
have occasionally used the Kodachrome and I don't know if it only happened on
those Kodachrome rolls or if it has happened on the Provia rolls as well.
Forgive me if this topic has already been covered.
