P3D Mounting details for RBT mounts

I just finished mounting 3 rolls of RBT X-4B slides (full frame 8 perf).
Here is a detailed description for anyone needing this information. I use
a 30" by 54" light table which is on a table about waist high -good for
standing.

Cut off 8 frames from the strip with sissors and insert into the left side
of a Hama 1225 lighted film cutter. I bought this from Reel 3D a few years
ago, all they list now is the #8008 non-illuminated cutter. I can't
imagine how you can get accurate cuts using that. The RBT X-4B has some
variation in the frame location, so cutting between the perfs will not be
accurate enough. Some of the frames touch while others have a gap between
them.

Lay the 8 chips down on the light table, matching up the pairs and
reversing the order with the lower frame number on the right.

Take the black 33mm mount and place down on the light table with the
triangle up. Press in the two white tabs into the top strip with the
little holes up. The left one goes all the way to the left, the right one
goes so it overlaps the right opening by the same distance (1.5mm) that the
left one overlaps the left opening. I think this sets the window to that
of the camera.

Place chips with perfs 2-4-6 on the white tabs with curved side up.

Check for window: The left frame should show more image on its right side
and the right frame should show more image on its left side. This puts the
window closer than any object on either edge. The photo may still show an
object in the center which is closer to you than the window. Maybe this is
OK, if not, then adjust the right tab to show MORE image on its left side.

Confirm window: Use a Radix viewer (Reel 3D SV1) with the back (white)
part removed.

Finish mounting: Place the white 33mm mount (triangle up) over everything
and press down. You may have to use two fingers to get enough pressure on
some of the places. If a film chip pops off the white tabs, you can hold
it down with a westab. If you don't have any westabs, use a finger and
sneak up on it; snap on the side where it didn't pop first, then remove
the finger and do the other side.

Final check: Use another Radix viewer with the back ON. My Kodaslide II
viewer doesn't show full frame but shows a magnified view of the middle
part. I think Jon Golden sells some illuminated viewers that show full frame.

If you can't get the window right with 33mm, try again with 28mm. I needed
to do this with two RBT shots with close objects at the edge and with a
number of cha-cha shots taken with a Ricoh R-1.

I hope this helps any newbies with RBT mounting.

My first 3 rolls on Fuji Sensia 100 came out really great with shots of the
Trade Fair, The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Strawberry Street Restaurant
in the Fan district Richmond, the Lackawanna Raddison in Scranton, and
Steamtown.
