Jet-Lincoln wrote about the cost of preparing slides for the NSA Auction.
I can't deny there is cost and time involved. Most of the stereo cards
I contribute to the annual auction bring less than what I sell them for
individually. With a couple of exceptions-President Clinton and Senator
Goldwater sold for more. But I look at the Auction as a donation to NSA,
as it is a moneymaker for the organization. Plus it is a lot of fun, I
think, to hear folks bidding on your works. Another additional benefit
which has not been previously mentioned - When a stranger stops you
during the trade fair and asks you to autograph the stereo card of
------- ------ that they bought the night before at the Auction.

Paul Talbot wrote about the apparent lack of communication/publicity
concerning the Auction which caused him to miss the deadline for
submitting items. My apologies Paul-At the risk of "beating a dead
horse" after the somewhat lengthy discussion following last year's
Convention I did not mention the NSA Auction this year. But apparently I
should have and I will personally " beat the dead horse" next year so
that everyone on P3D will know about the auction.

I can almost guarantee there will be at least one contemporary stereo
slide in next year's auction. I have a pretty good copy of a Ray Bohman
stereo card of President Nixon in China. With Eileen Bohman's permission
I will put the slide in the Auction and give the proceeds, whatever they
are, to the American Cancer Society. There may be a Presidential
Collector out there who likes slides.

Paul also mentioned that I may start getting my Auction entries ready
early, rather than late. Yes, I am working on the entries for next year
now- What am I bid for a B&W stereo card of Dalia at her trade fair
table? Just joking as I haven't developed that negative yet.

Again I encourage everyone to submit items to the auction, whether it be
images, equipment or supplies.
(Are you still listening Bruce?)
