A bigger question about the auction is how best to handle contemporary slides
or cards. Even with a bit faster knock-down of the hammer, 200 items is a
long night at the auction. The later items sell to a rather smaller audience.

I feel a bit silly collecting only old photography when there is so much great
current material. I bought a set of Boris' work, but what about the Tuscany
show? Or the Kitchen Sink? These were exceptional shows worthy of joining
anybody's collection and a downright inspiration to any contemporary shooter.
Bill Walton's card are already recognized by collectors of personalities.

The NSA needs to come up with a suitable way to assist members in
selling/collecting current cards and slides The auction is not a feasible way
for more than a few items. Any ideas or suggestions? I can guarantee
collector interest. What is the shooter interest? What about those who are
not interested in the mass production that has consumed Boris' time for the
past several weeks/months, but have a few excellent shots of
people/places/whatever of general interest to share?

As for the alleged preference for cards over slides, I can see the cards but
have to look at each slide in a lighted viewer, which I probably don't have
with me, using time that is hard to get in the mass of people trying to look
at the auction items.
