Not a good idea. Hanging weight creates a cylindrical curl (bowing)
of the strip. Best way to faltten film is to reverse-roll.
I am not sure about the batch mounting. I usually get my rolls inside
plastic sleeves. I leave them like that until I am ready to cut and
mount. I cut and mount one entire roll at a time. I now use Albion
mounts for preview, i.e. I cut and mount all pairs in Albion mounts
(no tape). Then I select the best ones, which I remount in RBT mounts
for projection or circulation in SSA/PSA folios. Some precious slides
end up in aluminum and glass. The rest will eventually be transferred
in Spicer mounts when I find time (which is getting harder and harder).
