P3D 2 color Vs. 3 color comments

Last night, I saw a news broadcast about an optician who helps color blind
folks and those who see in shades of gray. He applies one colored contact
lens to one eye and another color contact lens to the other eye. The end
result is that the person now sees in full color. Perhaps there is
something going on here that applies to this discussion about 2 color
images.
