P3D DrT's Lectures - Objections, Reply

In a previous email I outlined a series of articles ("DrT's Lectures
on Stereo Photography") to be published in the Stereogram, the
newsletter of the Ohio Stereo Photographic Society.

I will now reply to two "objections" (before they are raised :-))

#1. Bid deal! We read about these things every day in photo-3d.

Fine! If you can make sense through the endless debate in photo-3d,
good for you! :-) But I think you will find it refreshing to read
one person's account delivered REGULARLY (mailed EVERY month, one week
before the first Tuesday when our club meets) in small portions with
illustrations and pictures.

#2. George, why are you wasting valuable resources? Why don't you
publish this series in a widely read publication like "Stereo
World" or "Inside 3D"? And how about the web?

Hmmm... I wonder if anyone asked Piper this question! Well, I have my
reasons. I am the Editor of the Stereogram and OSPS Treasurer. I want
to publish interesting material and bring in money through subscriptions.
I want to promote stereo photography in our area. There are much BIGGER
names in stereo, much better qualified than I am to write about stereo.
I am good enough for Cleveland (OK, make it Northern Ohio.... well, OK,
I can even go all the way up to Ohio, but no further!)

George Themelis

PS. The offer for a free copy of Stereogram 3.1 still stands. I have
only heard from 3 people so far.
